Disc Injury Treatment in Lutz, FL

Discs can heal. Give them the chance.

What a disc injury actually is

Spinal discs are fluid cushions between vertebrae. Under years of load, or one bad lift, the outer wall can weaken and let the inner material bulge or herniate outward, pressing on nearby nerves. That pressure is what produces the deep ache, the electric leg or arm pain, and the numbness that make disc injuries so miserable.

The conservative path

Spinal decompression is the centerpiece: gentle, computer-controlled stretch cycles that lower pressure inside the disc, drawing bulging material back toward center and restoring the nutrient flow discs need to repair. Adjustments keep the joints around the disc moving well, and Class IV laser therapy calms the inflamed nerve tissue the disc has been pressing on.

Honest triage

Not every disc belongs on a decompression table. Rapidly progressing weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, and certain imaging findings need a surgeon, and we will say so plainly if that is your case. For the large middle of disc patients, though, conservative care resolves what surgery would have been sold for. Read more: decompression vs. surgery.
